Walked down the Mall from Piccadilly Circus. (Tube fare is 7.80 pounds return each wherever you go.) Visited the wonderful National Portrait Gallery which is not only wonderful but free! There are paintings of all kinds of people, contemporary and deceased.
Some street scenes follow, including photos of a visit to Oxford Street, which was wildly busy and a peek in Selfridges' window. Inside, the ground floor was completely given over to watches!
Then to St. Martin's in the Field for the daily concert at 1:00 pm, given by students of the Purcell School. Wonderful respite from the noise of the city and excellent musicians.
After the concert, walked to St. James Park, past Clarence House, to Buckingham Palace.

Visited the Museum of London and saw the history of London from very early times.
The Bermondsey B'hoys from the 2nd Grenadier Guards appear at ease for this informal photograph taken inside their base at Wellington Barracks. (WW1 photo)
London is big but wherever there is room, flower baskets a small garden, a park, bring welcome relief, and amazingly on our final day in London, the sun came out!
Tired of traveling, time to go home.
